Overview
Shred combines two types of search into a single entry point. When you type a query, you’ll see results from both:
AI Overview Summary – A narrative-style response that summarizes your search across all of your proposals in Shred.ai
Full-Text Search – Exact matches of your keywords inside past proposals.
This dual search makes it easy to quickly find precise text and gain context from broader insights.
How It Works
Enter Your Search
Click on the “search” button on the left hand toolbar (magnifying glass) and type in your search.
Example: “North Carolina licensed architect” or “stakeholder engagement strategy”
View AI Overview
Provides a summary of your search term, using insights from your entire proposal library in Shred.ai.
View Full-Text Results
Below the AI Overview, you will see proposals where your exact search term appears.
Drill Down
From here, you have a few options:
Under the “AI Overview” section, you can “ask a follow up question” which will allow you to engage with our AI Chat tool.
In the “full text search” results section, click on specific proposals where the exact search term appears.
When to Use Each
Full-Text Search: When you need exact wording from a past proposal.
AI Overview: When you need broader context, summaries, or to compare across multiple documents.

For the best results, combine both views: confirm details in the full-text search, then use AI summaries to frame your response.
