Overview
AI Chat lets you have a conversation with your Proposal Library, or with a specific RFP.
Instead of just searching for keywords, you can ask questions and engage with the tool in plain language and receive contextual answers.
It’s like having a teammate who knows every past proposal inside out!
Steps
Open AI Chat
From any screen, click on the “AI Chat” icon - the sparkling star icon in the bottom-right hand corner.
Type Your Question
Use natural language, just like you’d ask a colleague.
Example: “Which proposals included sustainability certifications in healthcare projects?”
Review the Answer
AI Chat will provide a narrative response, along with source references when available.
Refine with Follow-Up Questions
Continue the conversation without starting over.
Example: “Show me the specific wording used in those proposals.”
Note:
If you access the AI Chat tool while viewing a particular RFP, you have the option to chat with both your proposal library and this specific pursuit. You do have the option to select “No, I only want to talk to my proposal library.”
Tips & Best Practices
Open AI Chat instantly with a keyboard shortcut. Press ⌘/ (Mac) or Ctrl+/ (Windows) from anywhere in Shred to launch AI Chat without breaking your flow — no need to reach for the icon in the corner.
Ask complete questions. Instead of “sustainability”, ask “Which healthcare proposals mention sustainability certifications?”
Verify results. Use the source highlighter to view the original proposal(s) that are being referenced.
Iterate. If the first answer isn’t precise enough, follow up with clarifying prompts.
Resize the chat window to fit your screen. You can drag any edge or corner of the AI Chat panel to resize it however you like. Expand it when you need more reading room, or shrink it down when you just want it handy in the background.
Pop chat out into a floating window. Need more workspace? Click the pop-out icon to move AI Chat into its own floating window — perfect for multi-monitor setups where you want chat open on one screen while you work in the PMP or Proposal Studio on another.
