Overview
Verification ensures accuracy and understanding. AI can find the information, but your team still needs to confirm it's correct and relevant. This keeps proposals compliant and avoids missteps caused by misread or incomplete data.
Seeing What Needs Your Attention
At the top of your Overview, Response, and Recommendations tabs, you'll see a banner showing how many fields are unverified and how many have conflicting sources.
Click View next to the unverified count to jump directly to the first field that needs review.
Click Resolve next to the conflicting count to enter Conflict Resolution mode.
Verifying Fields
Click any field to view its source. Shred will automatically scroll the PDF viewer to the exact passage in the RFP, highlighted in yellow so you can confirm the extraction at a glance.
If the field hasn't been verified yet, you'll see two action buttons appear below it:
Verify — confirms that field and returns you to your previous place in the PMP.
Verify & Next — confirms that field and takes you directly to the next unverified item, so you can move through your PMP without backtracking.
Once verified, clicking a field will show its source only — no action buttons needed.
You can also verify from the kebab (⋮) menu on any field if you prefer that workflow.
Handling Conflicts
If a field has conflicting sources, it will be marked with a red dot. Click Resolve in the banner at the top to enter Conflict Resolution mode, which gives you a focused environment to work through each conflict one at a time.
Inside Conflict Resolution mode you'll see:
A progress bar showing how many conflicts have been resolved
A dropdown to jump between conflicting fields in any order
Pagination arrows to move to the next or previous conflicting item
The conflicting source options for the current field — click Check source to view each one in the PDF, then click Verify to confirm your selection
You can also click directly on a conflicting field in the PMP, or select Resolve conflict from the kebab menu, to enter Conflict Resolution mode for that specific item.
Understanding "No Source" Fields
Some fields won't have a source to verify. Clicking them will tell you why:
No source — field manually edited: the value was entered or changed by hand
No source — field AI generated: the value was generated by AI rather than extracted from a specific RFP passage (e.g., the Executive Summary)
These fields don't require verification, and the messaging makes it clear why there's nothing to confirm.
Verification keeps humans in control while still saving hours of manual review.
