Shred User Roles & Permissions

Shred uses role-based permissions to help teams manage access as they scale. Roles determine what users can view, edit, delete, and manage within the workspace.

Permissions are designed to give admins clear control over user management and governance β€” without interrupting day-to-day proposal work.

Overview of Roles

Shred supports four roles:

  • System Admin

  • Marketer

  • Collaborator

  • Viewer

Each role has defined access levels across pursuits, proposals, and workspace management.

Note: All roles retain access to core AI tools (AI Chat, Search, Go / No-Go).

Role Summaries

βš™οΈ System Admin

System Admins have full access to Shred, including:

  • Managing users and roles

  • Accessing system settings

  • Creating, editing, and deleting Pursuits and Proposals

  • Using all AI features and tools

This role is intended for workspace owners or team leaders responsible for governance and configuration.

πŸ§‘β€πŸ’» Marketer

Marketers have full working access to proposal content and AI tools.

They can:

  • Create, edit, and delete Pursuits

  • Create, edit, and delete Proposals

  • Use AI Chat, Search, and Go / No-Go

  • Collaborate across active work

They cannot manage users or system settings.

This is the standard full-access role for proposal contributors.

πŸ™‹ Collaborator

Collaborators have the same access as Marketers, with one limitation:

  • They cannot delete Pursuits or Proposals.

Collaborators can:

  • Create and edit content

  • Use AI features

  • Collaborate across workspaces

This role is useful when teams want contributors to participate fully without removing major records.

πŸ‘€ Viewer

Viewers have read-only access.

They can:

  • View Pursuits and Proposals

  • Review generated content

  • Access AI Chat, Search, and Go / No-Go

They cannot:

  • Create, edit, or delete Pursuits or Proposals

  • Manage users or settings

This role is appropriate for stakeholders who need visibility but not editing control.
